HRI Walk to End Homelessness
Housing Resources, Inc. (HRI) is a local organization that helps hold the frontline against homelessness in Kalamazoo County. Last year, HRI helped over 900 households solve their housing crisis when they were homeless or nearly homeless. They provided over three million dollars in back rent, security deposits, rental subsidies, utility payments, and other housing needs for Kalamazoo residents.
Each year, HRI holds a fundraising week and sizable community walk to raise awareness and support. The pandemic has changed the process this year, but not their mission! To fit these socially-distanced times, HRI organized a week of virtual events including fitness classes, performance art, and dance parties. Their team fundraising model allowed family and business units to choose their level of comfort and participation.
SalesPage Steppers
SalesPage sponsored the event and our team called the “SalesPage Steppers” set a company fundraising goal of $1000. We asked local and remote staff to #STEPOUT this week in one of two ways – on their own walk/jog/biking trip, or by joining a socially-distanced team walk. The rainy spring weather ended just in time to enjoy a walk around the river in downtown Kalamazoo!
A big thanks to all SalesPagers and community members who came out to support the HRI Walk to End Homelessness. Our generous staff helped us achieve our fundraising goal by Wednesday, and we are so excited to be #givingback to this worthy cause.
